More about Us

Members gathering for a chat after meeting. The Clevedon Local Meeting is located at 15 Albert Rd. Clevedon, BS21 7RP. The Meeting house is about 150 metres from the Six Ways roundabout (view the map).

We are a medium sized meeting with an attendance of between 15-20 people at any given time. Our Meeting is based on silent worship from which brief spoken ministry may be offered by anyone present.

We hold our weekly Meeting for Worship at 10:30am to 11:30am every Sunday followed by informal chat over some tea/coffee.

We hold occasional shared lunches after meeting. People are encouraged to bring a dish of something to share, though there is always enough to go around.

On the third Sunday of the month, we hold a Meeting for Business where Members and regular Attenders are encouraged to discuss the business of the Local Meeting. We have close links to Quaker meetings at Weston-super-Mare, Claverham and Sidcot, the four meetings forming North Somerset Area Meeting for the purposes of managing our finances and for examining common Quaker concerns. At times, we also share events with Portishead local meeting. Annually, Quakers from England, Wales and Scotland meet as 'Britain Yearly Meeting', either at Friends House in London or as a residential gathering. Yearly Meeting is also online. Therer are a variety of courses available both online and in person, organised Woodbrooke Quaker Studies.
